A: Yes, absolutely. The Phase Change Material used in our fibers is a composite ester-based polymer that is entirely skin-safe. Furthermore, it is certified to the OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100, meeting the strictest requirements for baby-grade product safety. This guarantees the material is free from harmful substances and is non-irritating, making it suitable even for sensitive skin.

Q04: Is this fabric good for both hot and cold weather?

A: While both are important for comfort, moisture-wicking fabric only moves sweat away from your skin to evaporate. Our smart temperature-regulating fabric goes a step further by actively managing thermal heat itself, providing a more comprehensive body temperature management solution.

Q09: How do I care for and wash garments made with this thermoregulating technology?

A: Our smart textiles are highly durable. To preserve the long-term efficacy of the temperature-regulating function, we recommend:

  • Machine wash in cold water (up to 25°C / 77°F).

  • Use a mild, neutral-PH detergent.

  • Avoid bleach and fabric softeners.

  • Tumble dry on a low heat setting or, ideally, air dry.

  • If needed, steam ironing is preferred; a low-heat iron can also be used.

Q11: What's the difference between Plastic Marine Litter for SEAQUAL and OBP (Ocean Bound Plastic)?

A: In fact, they are completely two different things. OBP is plastic that is collected up to 50 kilometers from the coast, that has never been in the water but is considered at risk of entering the ocean (and is collected in very large quantities often from highly populated areas where waste management is insufficient or non-existent). Plastic marine litter, as per the official definition of SEAQUAL INITIATIVE, is "Plastic waste that has been lost or discarded in the marine environment and is found on beaches and coastlines, on the ocean floor and surface, in or beside rivers and estuaries, in flood zones and coastal wetlands". As you can see, Plastic Marine Litter and OBP are very different, but both help to keep our oceans cleaner.

Q12: Why SEAQUAL products are becoming hot and popular?

A: SEAQUAL is an ingredient brand with material traceability and certification. In choosing SEAQUAL certified products, consumers know they are choosing to help end plastic pollution and save our oceans.

Q13: Is SEAQUAL YARN regenerated 100% from marine litter? And why is the % of marine litter not higher?

A: SEAQUAL® YARN contains approximately 10% Upcycled Marine Plastic and 90% post-consumer plastic from land sources. Upcycled Marine Plastic is made from marine litter retrieved from our oceans, beaches, rivers and estuaries.

This composition allows us to upcycle as much of the waste recovered from the ocean as possible whilst offering a premium fiber which can replace virgin polyester in any application. At higher percentages we would need to be more selective of the marine waste we use resulting in less of the recovered marine waste being upcycled and instead being sent to landfill or incineration.

Q14: Are SEAQUAL fabrics manufactured with 100% SEAQUAL YARN?

A: Yes, some fabrics can be manufactured with 100% SEAQUAL YARN, but some cannot. It depends on what kind of fabric you need. On the other hand, it will become more expensive if in 100% SEAQUAL YARN.

Q15: How much surcharge is it by using SEAQUAL YARN comparing to use normal recycled polyester?

A: It depends on what type of yarn and what percent used for the fabric. But as being produced in Spain, SEAQUAL YARN is expensive and the EXW prices are EUR8.00-12.00 per kilogram.

Q16: Is there any MOQ for SEAQUAL fabric?

A: Yes, but it depends. Normally our MOQ is 1,100 yards per color, and a surcharge applies to smaller orders.

Q17: What's the minimum % of SEAQUAL YARN required in the SEAQUAL fabrics?

A: All TEXTILES must contain a minimum of 20% of SEAQUAL® YARN, except in denim where the minimum requirement is 15% and AUTOMOTIVE TEXTILES where the minimum requirement is 40%. NON-WOVEN TEXTILES must contain a minimum of 40% SEAQUAL® FIBER. When SEAQUAL YARN is a blend comprised of SEAQUAL® FIBER and another fiber (i.e., organic cotton) only the SEAQUAL® FIBER will be counted when calculating the percentage. SEAQUAL recommend fabric compositions of 100% SEAQUAL® YARN or the highest percentage technically possible. Coatings, scrims, and non-textile laminates are not included when calculating the percentage by weight.

Q18: How do you prove they are real SEAQUAL fabrics?

A: We will provide SEAQUAL Textile Certification Number of our product. The Certification Number is unique and anthenticated by SEAQUAL lab. Or you could send a piece of the fabric to SEAQUAL lab for testing to approve.

Q19: What's your lead time for SEAQUAL fabrics?

A: Within one week for stocked fabrics, and within 90days for customed ones.

Q20: Could we have the SEAUQAL brandname on our final products?

A: Yes, but you should apply for it. All retail products made with SEAQUAL YARN are also required to contain a minimum of 20% SEAQUAL YARN. If the retail product contains non-textile materials, 20% of the textile portion must be SEAQUAL YARN.
