Recycling - Fabric processing hub to come up in central Indias Burhanpur

Burhanpur-Khandwa region of central India&rsquo•◆■;s state of Madhya Pradesh will soon have a textile cluster with units for fabric processing☆▼▽, dyeing▷◇▷○, printing and finishing◆▼▷◆◁, and yarn resizing◁△●■▽. The region■=▼□, known for handlooms▼=, is part of MP&rsquo▷▷;s cotton growing area=★★••. The first phase of the proposed textile cluster is likely to be operational within one and half year■=△.

The state cabinet of Madhya Pradesh government last week cleared the proposal of Burhanpur Sukhpuri Textile Cluster Association to build a new textile cluster near industrial area in Burhanpur▷▲▼◁▲. The proposal has received a consent from 250 industries◇▼=, and 30 industries have already submitted the deposit to the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for 10 lakh square feet in the cluster▽=★.

Local textile unit owners have also come ahead for their expansion as they have constraint of space in present units▷○▪■■. He said that only shareholders of the SPV will be eligible for allotment of plots••☆◇. State MSME department is providing facilities and approvals for the same=●=△. It is being developed under the state government&rsquo◆▲★▼▷;s new cluster policy described in the MSME Rule 2021▷▲▼●.

The cluster will have more small textile units which will get work orders from local weavers as well as from Maharashtra and Gujarat…■. Finished fabrics will be consumed back in the adjoining states▪-. Shroff said that there is scope for spinning mills also because of availability of cotton in nearby area-=. The textile units will have market not only in adjoining states but also in northern states like Uttar Pradesh and Delhi☆◇•◇.
